I'm looking to redo some of the foam in my cases but I can't find anything like the eggcrate or pluckable foam. I need to do 2 ep cases, ~24"x12"x6 & 12x8x5. A 6" refractor box, Atlas box, and an accesories box ~24x14x8 for finder, focuser, etc.

No luck at Hobby Lobby. Any ideas?

Same as John says. Easy to cut and holds its shape well. Talking about the 2.2# 2" black polyethylene foam.

You might look to see if there is a local source in your area. There are a couple of local companies in Oklahoma City that make and sell several kinds of foam that I buy and cut out myself. I especially like closed-cell foam becuase it doesn't absorb moisture from the atmosphere like open-cell foam does, and it is more rigid, which helps protect heavier items like mounts. Some of the local sources I've used are either manufacturers, packaging shops, or upholstery shops.

I used to fly professionaly and flew to and through Wisconsin several times. I may have gotten clearances from you!

Try www.foamrubber.com.

They are located in Boston, MA and will precut sheet in various thickness to fit your cases. I use their "ester" foam which does not out gas.
