Hi all! I finally bought myself another Newt, the vixen R135 F/5.3. My current Eyepieces are the orion expanse line and one orion highlight Plossl 32mm. The Plossl works great but the expanse Ep's not so well. Should I just go with the orion highlights plossls, the orion Stratus line, or some Tele vue plossls? or something else I haven't though of yet?

What I know, the public does not approve, and what is approved, I know to be error.

The Stratus/Hyperion line of EPs provide great value for the money. At F5.3 you should find them to work quite well, plus they provide a FOV that in my scope (12" F/5 dob) exceeded the 68 degrees claimed. They move nicely on Astromart and will be easily resold if they do not meet your expectations. The wide field of view makes them very useful and pleasing.

I like the Orion Ultrascopics instead of plossls. Down to 15mm, anyway. The eyehole is kinda small beyond that. 55degree fov, and very sharp.

Thanks for the help all, I have decided to go with the Orion Stratus line.

For only $10 more, the Baader Hyperion is a better buy than the Orion Stratus, and you have many more customizing options and gadgets to hang on it. I don't know why anybody would buy a Stratus when they could have a Hyperion with superior coatings, never mind the optional features.
