In progress Dome

I week to mock it up. I have to get the shutters working and then I"ll disassemble and begin building the walls. I have to wait for Spring before I can cover and final assemble it.

Bob, your dome frame looks professional, you must have a ton of hours in this so far. When trying to exactly matchup the wall "top ring" with the under side of the dome, I had good luck flipping the dome upside down. Also consider a good overlap to keep the rain out - I only went 1 1/2" using bondo and some rain still gets in. Good luck and keep posting your progress.

Finally got all the base work done. I dug out 3", put down ground cloth, installed edging and covered with two yards of round stone.
The 4"x6" beams are mounted to two piers each. The scope pier in the pic is not the one I'm using. The new one hasn't come yet.

Tomorrow, floor joists and floor, hopefully.

Well, I had the week off and the weather sucked!! I'm still waiting for my siding to come in but I did start to skin the dome today. I should have it on top of the walls within the week.
