Hi,

Does anyone have any first hand experience with the Moonlite ball and socket truss connectors? How rigid a connection does it make? How easy are they to assemble?

I'm interested in using them for a dob project.

I am having a scope built using the ball and sockets from Moonlite, I have been told that they are quite nice. I will let you know when it gets here. smile

I use them as well on my dob. Make sure you use more than 4 truss poles though. They are much LESS rigid in this configuration unless you use a set of clamps at one end that holds the poles rigidly. On my 8 pole truss, they work great.

I have them on my 16" F5 in a 8 pole setup. Moonlight told me 16" was about as big as they should be used on. I am very pleased with them. You will get used to the setup "fiddle :S dance" after a few tries. I would buy them again for another scope!
