I have to take apart a 8" D&G objective lens as got water between elements and have to clean - I cant get any help or advice from D & G - has anyone on here ever taken apart an objective like this??

Had my 6" apart for cleaning. I used a sharpie to mark the rotational alignment of the lenses, and the spacers orientation. All went well with no ill effects.

Were you not able to reach D&G or was their advice not helpful?

Like Pat says it's not terribly difficult, you just need to be careful handling the elements and mark them properly before seperating them.
Is the lens coated? Also, has the water etched the glass at all?
I too am curious why D&G is silent as they do cleanings and other service all the time.
