I’m planning to take my 10” dob to a star party this weekend, and since it will be my first time, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to quickly cover the scope in the event of passing rain showers. I was hoping to find something that will cover the entire scope including the dob mount. Any comments and / or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. smile

Paul if your scope does not have a cap, use a pillowcase. After capping the scope, brand new blue tarp and a bungee cord. That is a custom fit for any scope. wink

A quick solution would be to get some "55 gallon
drum liners" from the local hardware store -- essentially
a huge, heavy-weight trash bag. If one is not
long enough, you can slit the bottom seam to
make a cylinder, put it over the bottom of the scope,
fix in place somehow. Then put another one over the top.
Generally useful items to have on hand.

There are better solutions one can order-up
with more lead time.
