Hi all --

Has anyone found a satisfactory set of Mars images with features labeled? I find that the Mercator (rectangular) maps
don't relate easily to what can be seen thru an eyepiece except for Syrtis Major and the polar caps.
Mars isn't 'deep space' but this seems to be the best place for my question. Thanks for any help.

Try this Mars HOW-TO (go down to the map section), Bob.

The one labelled Aeschliman might be what you're looking for. Personally, I use the one my Trioani & Hernandez the most and the one in the Mars Observers Handbook (by Capen and Beish). It takes some practice to use the regtangular map; they're the ones with the most features map.

Thanks for the responses. The 'howto' site provides many interesting links.
