I found this oblique view of the central peaks of Tycho on the LROC site today: http://wms.lroc.asu.edu/lroc_browse/view/M162350671
Most of the LROC images are looking straight down on the lunar terrain, but occasionally you find these oblique views. These are amazingly detailed images. The image I've posted here is less than 6% of the original size, and I have also included a detail, a zoomed in view from the original. if you have a good printer, you can make spectacular prints from LROC images. If you have a BIG printer, you can make BIG images. This one is over 20 feet long at 100% resolution. If you decide to download it, be prepared for a wait. The original file is around 212 mb.

Cool. Your URL didn't work for me - it included the ".)" at the end.

This should...

WOW! Thanks for the website. I'll never be able to look at the moon through a scope again.

Thoses are some fantastic views of the moon, John. Not quite as good as men or a rover on the surface, but not a bad substitute. smile
