Just out of curiousity, what H-a filters do you folks use for those really great images?

Thanks!!

Hi Paul,

To start the ball rolling, I use an Astrodon H-alpha 6nm filter.

Just to give an upper bracket for this thread, I use the Astronomik 13nm.

I would like to try something narrower at some time for comparison.

Paul,
My camera is an ST2000XM, which is not as sensitive to Ha as some others (like the ST10). I had trouble finding guide stars with my super narrow Custom Scientific 3nm filter, so I went to the other end with the Schuler 13nm. I love it. I have no light pollution problems when using it, even with a bright moon and city glare using my fast F/3.3 Tak Epsilon with 20-minute exposures. Here is an example from the filter/camera combination.
Cheers,
Tyler

I use a 10nm Ha filter. This allows me to find bright enough guide stars to work with.
