The Crab nebula is now passing overhead nicely. Here is an image taken with my 7" refractor and STL11K camera, cropped and upsized. H-a data was combined with LRGB color data.

I love the image Rolando. I generally don't think of going after the Crab with a refractor. But then again, I don't have a 7 inch refractor.

Nice job.

Rolando,

Very sweet result!

What focal length do you have with the 7" refractor? Any possibility of going after it with your Mak-Cass (even if its only h-alpha)?

Anthony.

Hi Rolando,

Very cool! Looks almost like a narrow-band palette!

Very sharp. You have the right tools for the job.

I do have questions about the colors and the way the H-a was mixed in. (Your image is definitely "purpler" than some.) Are you willing to share exposure times and mixing ratios?

Thanks,
Charlie
