Question?? Multiple SBIG Cameras

Hi all. Is anyone out there using two SBIG cameras at the the same time? Is it possible to do this? I am wondering about using an ST-237 as an autoguider while also using my ST2000 for imaging. Will a laptop run both cameras at the same time? Will this combination work?
Cheers,
Tyler

Tyler,

Yes, it should. In CCDSoft, in the Setup tab, verify that the "Imager" option button is selected, and your ST2000 selected in the camera dropdown list. Now, click on the "Autoguider" option button. The dropdown should change to say something like "Camera's built-in guider". Change your selection to to the ST-237 (camera should be attached at this point), and you should be good to go.

Eric

Hi Tyler,

I use both an STL-11000M and an ST-10XME at the same time through Maxim. I've been using the STL as the imager and the 10XME as the guider, although I have switched thier rolls a couple of times. Both of these cameras are USB, but I'm assuming your ST-2000 is a USB while the 237 is serial. If this is the case then there will be no problem. If your 2000 is serial and your laptop has only one serial port then you'll need to get a serial PCMIA card or USB serial adapter.

What camera control software are you using?
