I am wrapping up some of my travels through some of the less traveled HII regions in Cygnus. Here is Sharpless 119. It is about 3-1/2 degrees from the North American Nebula (opposite side from Deneb). A full size image and exposure / processing details are at:

This one was done with a Vivitar 180 mm SLR lens and my Artemis285.

There's stuff on the other side of Deneb? I never looked over there before. Good going Jim.

Sweet work Jim! I enjoy seeing your shots of the road less traveled.

Nice catch, Jim! I see the jaws of some cosmic beast here (here I go again! wink )

Thanks for the comments guys...

Eric, Lovely imagination! It would be so cool to throw out the constellation map and have you start with an un-nammed starry sky and see what you would come up with for constellations.

Dietmar, others Thanks for noticing the out-of-the-way objects. I think I have one more, then it's back to the regular stuff for awhile.

Bruce, Well, the Vivitar 180 mm FL lens is pretty cheap. The field is irregular - so what is focused in one area is soft in another - I try to strike a good balance without spending all night playing with an SLR focus ring. :S But also you may have noticed I tend to soften my stars in the processing a bit - maybe I shouldn't do that.

Thanks again all for the comments.
