Setup my new rig today to see how it all fits. FS152 fluorite doublet, William Optics 80/480 TMB fluorite triplet, Tak NJP mount, Tak diagonal. Robin Casady 14 inch saddle.

I also set it on either of 2 piers- 1 in my backyard observatory the other in my dark site observatory. The 2nd setup is RCOS 12.5 on the NJP.

With Sbig 2000XM or Nikon D70 or ToUcam/Sac 7b for planet work.

Nice to have. Its part of the fun of astronomy.

Greg.

Nice Rig! Better move it out of the kitchen before your wife comes home.

Thanks for the compliments and humorous responses.

Luk,I had an aluminum Vixen style dovetail plate with slots where you bolt through.
I then screwed through the Tak clamshell hole directly into the bottom of one of the William Optics rings.

It is not ideal actually as it isn't really adjustable beyond left to right.

ADM rings or Losmandy guide scope rings would be better and perhaps Parallax rings for the FS152 and a DUP plate on top may be a better setup. That way you can adjust the guidescope to exactly what the main scope is seeing.

The above scopes rig weighs 17.1Kgs or 38lbs. Add another say 5lbs (the diagonal would not be used and that is quite heavy) for a DSLR or Sbig camera and you have about 43lbs all up.
