Wow, this one was very difficult to capture with a DSLR camera. I never saw the image until after the stacking and processing! Through the use of an IDAS filter, there was enough signal to noise seperation and this is the result of a 5-stack of 5 min exposures. Scope: Tak 90, reducer. Camera: Canon 20D, ISO1600, noise reduction on.

Thanks for looking!
Ivan

Beautiful, Ivan. Quite haunting, actually. You really went deep here.

That is an incredible image, Ivan!!!! It looks like one to add to my "must do" list. I am amazed at the success you are having with the 20D, especially on dim objects like this one. It really appears to be a nice camera for astro work. How are you doing your guiding? ST-4? Manual? Great work.

Very nice...I'm supprised at how much you managed to capture in just 25 minutes worth of exposures..
That 20D chip must be a great imaging chip...
Thanks for sharing,

This is impressive, Ivan. You have a lot of signal for your short exposures. You must have dark skies.
