Hi again Friends,

Same data as with the Saturn image; RV-6, excellent seeing, clueless operator. I didn't like the way Registax sharpened the image, so I went to MaxIm, which helped a lot. I was amazed to see how many tuly poor shots the program had selected for processing, so I had to go back and re-select them manually. A bit of a pain, but certainly nothing like the old days, where you had to do *every single thing* by hand! I think this is the crater Aristillus, but I could very easily be wrong.

Maurizio

Just for the record, I hope I didn't come across as being critical of Registax. I consider Cor's work to be amazing, and that we are the very fortunate benefactors of this genius's work. It is a rare and admirable person indeed, who will so freely give his time, expertise, and efforts, so that the rest of us may have a powerful processing tool to work with on our images, free of charge. Thank you, Cor, your efforts have not gone un-noticed (or unappreciated) by this man. grin

Hey Maurizio, thats a damn fine lunar shot!!
Just as a point of reference my Hortensius domes shot would be just out of the frame of your image at the 6 o-clock position.(Copernicus BTW!)
For Registax I like to go through the stacklist manually and uncheck the crappy frames, I do this after its aligned and optimized, saves on going through ALL the frames in the beginning!

Hi Maurizio,

Very nice image of Copernicus. It's the kind of image I wish I had.

Clear skies,

Hello Maurizio,

Nice image. I can make out lots of detail in the central peak.
