(L)RGB compositing help needed (PS Elements)

I'm working up to doing some RGBs. I'm just trying to understand the process now.
I can't figure out how to do the combination of the three files in Photoshop elements.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'll be working with files from K3 and RegiStax from an Atik.

I'm not sure what you have but the process would be to make sure the channel window is open, View - channels, then, in the channel window select Merge channels, then select 3 channel RGB and click ok. This of coarse assumes that your RGB are already aligned.

The link is specifically describing how to use "fits" files, but from steps 3 onward, the process is the same for all RGB images (I think). I don't know PS Elements, because I use PS CS, but I would guess that many of the steps are he same. I think this process assumes that the images are already aligned. Do you know how to align them?
