I guess there was a hatch of an egg case in the yard, these guys are wreaking havoc on the aphids! This one is about 1cm long, just a toddler, but still a ferocious predator.
Shot with a Sigma 105 macro.

The same mantis, this time in stereo. Slowly cross your eyes until the images merge, and you can see it in 3D. You should end up with three images in view, the center one as 3D.
This was an accidental stereo pair, as I was moving about snapping pictures.

Awesome - one of my favorite critters.

I was once in the right place at the right time to see thousands of these moving through a meadow. The air was full of them - it was incredible.

Great shot - I love how it's looking right at the camera.
