Going to a dark site...was wondering your thoughts on what is the best all round filter to accentuate Nebula... I have found that most of the filters I have tried are too dark..they tend to block out detail... H-Beta, OIII, appreciate and help.. JM ( my scopes: MN66 & TV Genesis ) EP's: 2" Nag. 22mm. T-4 & 35mm. Pan.

UHC or Narrow Band is the most useful for the most objects, followed by O-III and then H-Beta. The O-III does block a lot of light so aperture helps. H-Beta only shows a few objects well, like the Horse Head.

As everybody said already, the Lumicon UHC or the Orion Ultrablock are the MOST useful Nebula Filters out there... then everything else follows... (O-III, H-Beta)

I only use a broadband in my backyard. At a dark site I don't use it, but have peered through a 16 with an OIII at the Veil. From my limited experience (like most say), depending on how dark and what your looking at can make a big difference. So many of those filters seem so specialized.
