I feel the love here!

Well, I can understand everyone's lack of love for Meade. It is hard to find someone with a good experience with the support side of the business. I have seen some good scopes though, including my 127ED. But, I am not sure just how many owners are happy with the product itself. How about that?

Hi Floyd, I for one (knock on wood) have never had one single problem with a Meade telescope. It's the electronics in the mounts that make me want to scream and I do. But I can't say what the words are that I scream. Herb would ban me from astromart then who would I gripe to then? Best wishes to everyone with Meade mounts, Darrell

Good report, though second hand.

A fellow club member bought an early 10 inch Meade SCT. BAD optics, AND a retaining clip was not installed somewhere in the system. Short and sweet, mirror fell through corrector plate when packing one night, sent back with some verbage, returned with new correctly installed, excellent optics. Cost, shipping back for repair. OF COURSE this was a LONG time ago.

I had a classic 12" LX200 that I used for years and years without a single problem. However after one look through my friends new 12.5" Starmaster. Well lets just say, that was the last time I used that scope. It was sold soon after.
