Telrad Base Falls Off-Need Help!

My Telrad base has detached from the adhesive strips and will not stay put. Does anyone have advice to resecure the base. Seems the base has a very small surface area to contact the adhesive. Right now I am considering duct tape wink.

You can by good 3m foam tape and replace the tape. I have used it with good results.
I have mine attached with screws or other means however, on the new scope.

Judson,

If you want more details on the 3M tape, you can go to there website and look under "VHB (Very High Bond) Adhesive tape". They make a slew of versions in many widths and thicknesses. If there is a 3M distributor nearby you can call them up and request a sample. They make samples available to potential users free, or at least they have up until recently.

Judson,
I don't know if it will be usefull to your application. There is a company called GCS Astronomical that sells a replacement lainding pad for the telrad. The item is called a RadPad and they work rather well. You might want to look into it.

Though not as elegant as Ivan's setup, I found that a plywood block
taped onto the scope structure worked for me, too.
Hasn't fallen off yet! wink
