Size Refractor to piggy back on a Celestron Ultima

I have a Celestron Ultima 8 on which I am going to start doing some CCD imaging. I want to have a piggy back scope for viewing or maybe even using the Refractor for imaging.

Can you recommend a size and type of scope that woudl work in this application. I don't want to spend a lot, maybe under $1000. Used is also an option. Just looking for recommendations and guidance.

I am looking at this scope used for $350. Does that sound like a reasonable scope and price for what I want to do?

Chris
Well within the $1,000 price range you mentioned (especially on Astromart), I would recommend one of the following listed in order of preference.
Tak FS60C
Borg 76ED or 77ED (very light weight)
Borg mini 50ED or 60ED (very, very light, may be able to use finder scope bracket without much counterbalance)
WO 66mm SD APO (a little heavy, but priced well)
The Celestron and Orion 80ED and similar may be a bit too much weight for your OTA/mount.

I have the FS-60C and it's a lifetime keeper no matter what mount, camera, or other OTA's it is matched with.

To begin imaging, it would definitely be best to start with the piggybacked short focal length OTA. It's critical to properly counterbalance the OTA.
Hope this helps.

Chris, as many suggested, maybe the 66mm WO SD might be the one for you... (I forgot to take into consideration "the size" of the scopes I mentioned, and they might be a bit too much on top of your 8" SCT)

I personally own the WO 66SD and love it! 8)
