Hi All,

Here are a couple of images of the comet taken back in October. Ray Gralack took the original color image under better transparency than I have had. I added the core detail using my 10" Mak to his wide field image:

Super nice image Roland! The core looks great and that tail is impressive.

Wow, great image. First I have heard of the core being in pieces which is what you image seems to show.

Roland,
I don't know that I've ever seen a finer comet image; I could stare at that for a very long time.
Thanks for sharing it,
Larry

Thaks all. The bulk of the work was done by Ray Gralack shooting near San Jose in less than pristine skies (fair amount of light pollution). Scope used was 160EDF operating at F5.7. The core was shot with my 10" Mak-Cass here under the Target/Builders's Square light dome nearby my observatory. It shows that you can still do meaningful astrophotography even if you do not live in the sticks.

By the way, the comet looked about as bright as M13 in my 15 x 70 binoculars. I could not see much tail because of my local light pollution.
