Here is the Dark Doodad in Musca. It is a pretty molecular cloud that
in places isn't so dark!

Comment, criticisms welcome.

Tom,

The title of your post is making me want to sing:

"De-doo-doo-doo, de-da-da-da, is all I want to say to you..."

Spectacular shot! The glob off to one side gives it a nice punctuation!

Great shot Tom! And, one I have never seen before. I love the globular as well. It really adds to the nice presentation of the object. Overall, I think it ranks among your best images.

I have a question Tom... How do you decide on your framing? It seems to me that your framing is always wonderful. But, the objects you image are often very dim (dark actually). Do you take some long exposures to begin with and then reposition the object for the "real" image? Or do you just take a guess and hope for the best? I suppose some objects can be framed using images found online or various other places. At any rate, I was just wondering how you go about framing these dark nebulae.
Cheers,
Tyler

Superb Tom!
This image has such a great feel of depth too it,like I could reach in and touch it. NGC 4372 adds a nice little "bonus" to the image too.
