hi all,

About a week ago I imaged m1 with my mewlon250 at f9 and st10xme using a red CS filter 60 minutes with 5 min subs. In the past I had imaged it with a Vixen VC200L at f9 and a st8e, 40 mins with 5 min subs and had some old (poor) color data taken with the Mewlon and st8e 10 min each channel (2x2 binning).

The resizing and aligmnent of the images was done automatically in MaximDL ver4.The combined R+L was deconvolved in CCDSharp ( 2 iterations) The rgb combine and combining of the R and lum frames was also dome in MaximDl. The (R+L)rgb combine was done in PaintshopPro. The final tiff file was selectively high pass filtered and unsharpmasked in MaximDL so only the pixel values of the tiff ranging from 25000 to 65000 were processed.

I still want to get some better color date and more Red data, but here is the result so far.

clear skies,

Larry Citro

This is beautiful, Larry!

Thanks for the processing detail. I'm going to try the L+R thing if I ever get some images to work with.

Hi Larry,

thats a very nice M1 shot. The image scale is very nice too.

I have a Paintshop question for you. After you do the RGB combine (and i assume its with TIFF and not FITS) do you use the Color Channel Mixer tool to adjust the RGB weighting? If you do, how to you arrive at your optimum settings?

Nice shot Larry!
Can't wait to see your "final" version of it, as this one already looks good...

Thanks for sharing!

Fantastic job! Thanks for the detailed processing information, it's quite fascinating to read about others' techniques.

That is a very cool shot Larry. Thanks for including some processing details as well.
