Here's my attempt at adding H-alpha data into my previously imaged M33. The H-a data was 180 minutes unbinned.

It posed some processing challenges; I'm not sure i've got it right yet. The histogram looks balanced however. I'll likely play with it some more.

Comments/criticisms welcome.

Best,
Tom

Hi Tom,

Famtastic shot. Its amazing how many Ha regions it has.
Criticisms? Yes, I'd like to criticize myself for not taking shots as good as yours!!

Tom,
This is a really fine image. It's nice to see these HA regions more clearly like this in these active galaxies.

I've wanted to try it myself sometime. I'm curious at what you did generally to process the datat. My temptation would be to use the HA and straight luminance to construct a luminance channel and then play that against the RGBs on an LRGB process.

I suspect that you may have added the HA data into the red channel as well - a tricky proposition that I see could present some challenges.

Here it is again but better color balance. Sorry about the magenta bias before!

I broke my scope collimating so I'll be down for a while. You all keep up the great work!

Tom
