The fabulous OMega Centauri, perhaps the most amazing object in our sky at a dark site with a good telescope. Some estimates
place it as being 11 million stars and a dwarf galaxy remnant.

Takahashi FS152 at native F8 on Tak NJP mount autoguided with SBig 2000XM through William Optics 80mm triplet.

5 x 3 minutes at ISO1000.Modified Nikon D70.
Sydney.

Greg.

Well done, Greg. An excellent pic! I'm currently in Singapore on a holiday. The light pollution here is so bad that at 5:45am it is just a barely discernable smudge in my TV-60. I can imagine how wonderful it is in Australia!

Greg
That is a nice shot of a beautiful object. Is that the actual field of view with that setup or did to crop it? These digital SLR's seem to be capable of some great images, particularly from a dark site.
Thanks for sharing.
