Happy new year to all! It has been a busy holiday season for me - I hope to get back to more astronomical endeavors...

Here is a part of the sky in Orion that features 5 Sharpless objects Sh2-254 through Sh2-258. A full size image and exposure and processing details can be seen at:

Hi Jim!

I'm a little late here - I've been out of circulation for an extended holiday - those are cute objects you've captured! Nice processing, too!

Hope you had a great holiday. I did - I was able to bring a little scope, and floored family (mine and my wife's) with views of Saturn, the Pleiades and M42.

Hi Jim,
That's really well done. The field of view is perfect. I've been trying to collect enough data on IC 2162 for a couple of years, but I can see from your image that this field of view with all five Sharpless objects is much more interesting.
My regards,

dan

Thanks for the comments (and season wishes from Ivan and Eric).

Dan, Yes, I think if I was selecting targets out of IC I may have just gone for IC2162. But I was selecting out of Sharpless and I was intrigued by these five sharpless objects so close together. When I was surveying the internet for SH2-25x, these always seemed to be framed together.
