Hi,finally got some views of saturn again after a cloudy period, but to say it was transparant no way, only 3 stars were visible and the moon flooded over the sky, it was just a thick soup, but the seeing was fair (about the same as Dodi)
captured with te 180 mm Mak. cass, at f40 (think to high magnification), 1240 frames from 1900 at 5fps and gain full open regretly, but got the green pole band
best regards Jan

Hi Han -

Nice image!

I would think in those conditions, f40 would leave a very dim saturn in your 7"? A little less magnification might help sharpness.

best,
Alan

Hi Jan,

Very nice image. The conditions just never seem to come together completely, do they.

Clear skies,

Thanks all for your comments,
You're right Alan it was indeed a dim image (level 100 on K3CCD), but the trouble with the antidisp. corr. and a 2 x barlow there is already a very high magnification, next time I try without the antidisp. corr.

only 1 night in the Saturn season sofar it fell together with good transp. and great seeing Ed
