Film Scanners.

Anyone have any experince with the Epson V700? I have read good things about it, and am thinking about upgrading my scanner.
Current scanner: Microtek ScanMaker 5900. Not real happy with the way I have to deal with uncut strips of negatives/slides.

Any comments?

Thanks,

Epson's (as well as Canon's) line of scanners starting with the 4870 have been giving superb results. You should read the review available at this link:

Hope this helps,

The issue I see with the dedicated film scanners, is the ones that will also do medium Format (120) film - of which I have a fair amount - are whoppingly expensive.

My current Microtek flatbed does a fair job on film - it's just dealing with loose strips of 4 to 6 negatives is a major pain. *ugh*
Plus this whole "Digital Ice" business sounds very useful - something my scanner/software does not do.

Gotta keep researchin', I guess.

Thanks, guys.

Hi Kevin.
I bought a Konica/Minolta DiMage Elite 5400 II last year,
with the intent of scanning my thousands of slides to disc.
I haven't actually used it that much yet, but it seems to be pretty good.
Not as nice as the Nikon, I'm sure, but it seemed like a reasonable compromise.
It's probably worth your consideration.
