First decent prime focus, M42

Since there's been such a dearth of postings, I thought I'd chime in with one of my own. Taken a few weeks ago in Death Valley, C9.25 at p.f., 12 min. tracked and manually guided, Nikon F2 using Provia 400. No manipulation. It looked a lot better on the slide than on the CD.

very nice, I would like to see somebody post one layered or combined so that you can see all the color but still the trapezium as in my photo. Seems like not to many that show those 4 stars due to saturation. I like the almost blue fringe bordering the red in your pic.

Hi David,

Nice picture! I really like Provia 400 for astrophotography, although not quite as ruby red as E200 (not necessarily a bad thing). If you took that in Death Valley, are you from around the area or were you just visiting? I ask because I hail from Ridgecrest.
