El Capitan at Sunset

My first visit to the parks out west...and it had to be Yosemite! Totally mind blowing beauty everywhere I looked. The first day we had passing rain and storm showers and I headed up to Tunnel View after dinner just in time to capture some clearing. This was a two-frame stitch with a Canon 50mm f1.2 lens.

The mighty El Capitan is on the left, and Bridal Veil falls is on the right. In the distance Half Dome is shrouded in evening clouds.

Thanks for looking!
Ivan

Ivan...

Beautiful image. There's a lifetime of photo ops in Yosemite, from the big to the small.

Did you happen to see Horestail Falls on the east buttress of El Cap? It usually lasts only a few weeks each year, but with the recent rain and snow it might go longer. Five weeks ago it was the best I had ever seen it.

Fantastic shot, Ivan. Good job on the stitching. I'm sure you resized for posting here and I can only imagine what it looks like at full size and resolution. If it were my image I'd print it on canvas about four feet long and hang it on the most prominent wall in the house. Thanks for posting.

Beautiful work, Ivan!

Sweet the coming on
Of grateful evening mild; then silent night
With this her solemn bird and this fair moon,
And these the gems of heaven, her starry train.
