The seller is asking $65,000.

I wouldn't pay a dime over $59,000. 8)

I wonder what other unique or micro-runs of AP scopes are out there?

The only thing wrong with censorship is [deleted].

Oh from what I understand Roland had done a number of projects over the past 25 years or so. There are some 7 inch Mak Newts with some happy owners. An 8 inch houghten in a I think it was a C8 tube assembly that lives in California:-) A 10 inch F9 Mak Cass. There was a run of 140 mm tripletts in either the late 80's or early ninties. Forgot to mention a short run of five and six inch doublets. As people change interests and move on I'm sure they will end up on Astromart.

With that amount of money, I would rather pick up 20" of aperture (ie. OGS RC 20"). This is not to say that I have something against AP refractors since I have (and love/cherish) my AP160 with AP1200GTO GEM.

Is this the same scope I recently saw for sale on Amart for $45K? If so, I wonder why price increase, if it did not sell at that price(maybe I'm confusing 2 different scopes). Joe

Speaking of dimes, a unique 1873-CC No-Arrows dime sold for $632,500 back in 1999. With the 9" AP you get something useful for 1/10th the price! Also, you're unlikely to accidentally spend a 9" APO. wink
