Had good seeing last night allowed for testing a 305 Mak-Cass on various objects. Normally I would have shot with my STL11K, but I thought I would pull out my ST10XE camera for some high resolution shots.
This image is 6 x 10 minute Luminance, 305mm F12.5 Mak-Cass, under high moonlight illumination, fairly good seeing. Image is cropped square and reduced to 70% size.

Rolando,

This is a very impressive image with exquisite detail.

However, if you look carefully at the stars, you will some sort of "artifact" on the left side and it is something especially easy to spot on the bright(er) stars. Is it a bad sub which got thrown into the mix or something else?

What other targets did you shoot? I would love to see NGC 891 in And.

Anthony.

Roland,

I'm glad to see another test shot of the Mak-Cass. Haven't heard much about it 'til now. grin

Great shot! Wonderful details!
