However, I am not quite sure that is it. For that to be true, then, they'd have to be dumb as snot. I don't think they are, I do think they are operating under a very different paradigm than what a lot of us are used to and expect.
For instance, this was clearly stated by Mr. Obama and his wife at at least two different times during the election/primaries. Once, during a debate, Senator Obama was asked about taxes: George Stephanopoulos stated that the historical record has shown that decreasing taxes increases government revenues through an expanded economy. When asked if he would still raise taxes in light of the historical record, the Senator replied that he would, when pressed further, he explained that it would be "fairer" to raise taxes on those already paying (those of you who are good with you tube can look up the video to corroborate my memory). The second, almost as stunning was a statement by Mrs. Obama, she said at a town hall type meeting (aside from the fact that America was a mean place), that "...some people are going to have get used to a smaller piece of pie, so that others can have a share of piece...." (again, you youtubers, you guys should be able to find this).
Granted, republicans in washington haven't always been the best stewards of our tax dollars, but most of them believe in "growing" the economy so that the pie is bigger so that others can therefore have a piece. But, I think these two examples show that the Obama's have a very different way of looking at things than at least 47% of us.
My rambling point is, I think they have a clue, it's just that there vision isn't the same as mine.

The title says it all. If McCain would have one, I bet the losses the stock market have sustained in the last 45 days would have occured the first week after the election.
Not to mention the fact that this is a GLOBAL economic downturn.

It is what it is...

Herb you are so pessimistic, 95% of Americans now have $13 extra per week to spend at Walmart.
Under normal circumstances a budget and spending like the proposed would send the markets down. Add in all of the money being spent to help the autos, banks and AIG and we got a disaster.

Charlie Gasparino, a reporter on CNBC wrote an oped in the NY Post about the brain trust bust in BHO's administration. (I am not sure if the link made it through.) Search the Post. Charlie is a respected reporter with some inside info, great read. It explains why we are heading toward SP500 of 100.
And of course they will blame it on Bush, when in fact the Glass Stengall Act Clinton passed is the real cause. Nobody mentions GWB tried to rein in Fannie and Freddie but Barney Frank and Chris Dodd would have nothing of it.
Last I checked the Dow was about 9000 on election day. And about 8200 on Inauguration Day, 6633 now. Blame that on GWB? C'mon now.

In effect, yes. But realistically it started about 30 years ago and was perpetuated by the Clinton years, then GWB tried to put regulations in that were scoffed at by Barney & Friends. Now Barney & Friends are at the helm and the ship is sinking much faster and they are too stupid to PLUG THE HOLE! They refuse to even look for the hole, which is themselves! They'll still stand around quibbling about GWB while ignoring the hole in the ship. In fact they are hiding the plug as they lay blame on someone else. The Socialists have their lifeboats and we are forbidden to get in since we're just "the common folk". Have you noticed lately, though, that a lot of Dems are jumping ship? Yes, just like the rats on a ship, they're scrambling to get out before it sinks and pushing us aside so WE go down with it instead of them.

Right,
I made a question about unemployment.
I do not want to discuss the basis of America.
You did not give an answer but a political speech.
The question is:
Is the 650K lay offs the effect of the last 45 days of policy?

The report of 650k number refers to the month of February.
The stimulus bill has been signed on February 17 by the president.
Furthermore many companies have announced layoff plans starting on November 2008 up to June 2009.
Look at the data http://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/empsit.pdf
and you will see that unemployment has started ramping up
on 2008 from 5%.
As far as creating wealth goes we have already seen how that has been done: starting from fraudolent appraisals to inflate the housing market then going to derivatives , subprime mortgage backed securities,
and fooling the investors in a 250 billion investment fraud scheme(6 times the deficit of California) that will be repaid by tax$
