Hi all

This is another shot I took a couple of weeks back, exposures were 10 minutes x 13 shot through the ZS66 and an SXV-H9C,guided on a G11 mount.
I've got to say that I was expecting better results with the exposures I got on this but I guess there's a lot more that makes a good image than just longer exposures.

Louie,

It looks good to me. Appears to be lots of signal, and I do love this galaxy.

I think it is a excellent picture.

That's still a pretty neat shot, Louie! The stars look a little bloated - you either need some type of UV/IR filter, or watch the focus a little more closely, or maybe both.

Looks very good to me Louie! 8)
And yes, there's LOTS MORE than just long exposures to a good image... but you got a good one here... wink

On the contrary, Louie, this is a fine result.
I think this galaxy is naturally contrasty, and is harder to process than most.
Your version compares favorably with Jim Misti's version:

for its coloration, etc.

Louie,
Looks fine to me. There's lots of dark lane detail in your image. I'd be very happy with this result from my SXV H9.

It looks great to me Louie!

Nice shot Louie. I think it looks fine.

Sometimes you just need a dark site to get more detail for the exposure length. Were you expecting more brightness?

That is a big ask for more detail from 66mm aperture. I think the result is outstanding for the scope size.

Hi Louie. I think you used all 66 mm of that scope and got a very nice image! congrats, vince
