Blancanus

Crater Blancanus taken with a 12 inch LX200GPS at F/20 from Shalimar, Florida. This was 900 frames out of 1600 taken with a DMK 21F04 Firewire camera.

I actually took the AVI earlier in Sept, but just got around to processing it. I was busy evacuating for Hurricane Ivan and then had a week of cutting up fallen trees and repairing fences.

Seeing was very good the evening I took this, so most of the frames I took were usable.

You can see the edge of Clavius at the bottom of the picture.

Because of your outstanding images I am considering buying a DMK 21F04. Do you need a firewire port on your laptop or is there an adapter made that will go into a USB 2.0? Also, have you any experience witha the color version of the camera? Keep those killer images coming, thanks, Vince

I was doing some crater size measurements on this image and if my logic is correct, I measured a crater about 1/2 mile across!! That's a really great image!!
