I may not agree with everything McCain offers but I agree with almost nothing Obama brings.

I won't stump for it here, opinions are too set.

That's pretty much the way I feel about it. I'm not real thrilled with either side. About the only thing that *I* feel is most important (between these two), is who is more qualified to be Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces. There I think McCain is miles ahead. Who is the better "talker"?, well Obama has a way with words. Too bad most of those words are empty. I just wish both sides would stop the childish bickering between themselves and actually do their jobs.
But we must remember that it is Congress that really has most of the "job slots" with the "domestic issues". Not the President. He's just the person at the end of the day that is supposed to sort out what is proper, or not, and sign the "approval" papers. So what has Congress done GOOD lately? And which "party" is the majority? Which party tries to circumvent the President for political gain? Which party in recent years stomps their feet when they don't get their way? And which one Gloats when they do? You're voting for "the party" more than for the individuals. Think hard and long about recent history before you cast your vote. To me, it's clear as a bell.. YMMV

Well, speaking only for myself (though I'm not a "right-wing loyalist", by any means), *I* don't "ignore" that fact; I simply see it as a positive thing, on balance. The only major complaint I have about the last 8 years is that the national debt was increased WAY too much. Some of that was due to post-9/11 consequences, but still ...

You have to keep in mind the fact that, with the presidential polls pretty evenly split right now, *half of the country* disagrees with you. That doesn't mean they're "ignoring" anything; it just means that they evaluate things differently than you do.

(And, of course, half of the country disagrees with *me*, so there ya go.)

First off, I am no "right wing loyalist". I don't know why extremists always claim that when someone doesn't agree with them. So, since the GOP has had, as you say, the "upper hand", then I guess the supposed "balanced budget" must have been their (GOP) doing instead of Bill Clinton? I mean isn't it Congress that "controls" the purse strings?
You also bring up a fact (yes, a fact) that the GOP was also "in charge" for most of the G.W. Bush years. So isn't it also a fact that since the Dems have "taken over" that pretty much NOTHING has been done except a bunch of bickering and finger-pointing in the last 2 years?
I also don't know where you get this "You all trust McCain" from?? Because I for one trust that Senator McCain will be Senator McCain. Whether or not I agree with him, I know where he stands. I can't trust Senator Obama to be Senator Obama since he changes his mind more than I change my underwear and I don't know who he is, or what he actually stands for. Just today he had the audacity to try and take credit for the President's decision to bring 8,000 troops home! And then complain about it to boot! The President did exactly what he said he would do over 4 years ago. When the conditions are right to bring out people home. That had nothing to do with Obama whatsoever. So that had lowered my respect for that man even more for trying to be something he isn't, and for trying to take from someone else by claiming it was his idea. You know, for someone that has *never* governed anything, he sure has the gonads to stand up and claim that a GOVERNOR has no experience. Just think, Bill Clinton was "just a governor", so was Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan. For some greenhorn senator, that hasn't even served ONE term in the Senate, who has done absolutely nothing, to not even sponsor ONE bill, to make so many idiotic claims about a Governor to have "no governing experience" shows me the man needs a reality check and look at the truth, and the facts, before opening his mouth.
No, I'm not thrilled with McCain either. But when faced with the differences between the two, I just can't vote for a person with such an ego problem.
Besides, isn't it Biden's "turf" to be debating Palin? Since when does the Presidential nominee go after the Vice-Presidential nominee?? The man thinks he's king! He's losing it.. He's losing sight of what he is supposed to be. He's lost sight of reality.

Putting him forward as some paragon of consistency is laughable.

It never ceases to amaze me that extremists always point to quotes and far-left web sites, or in the case of far-right web sites, that just spew and ooze hatred, as reliable sources of information. Anyone can take clips and quotes out of context and put them together to form a completely new meaning. In this example, you pointed to a far-left web site that has links to other far-left web sites. Sure, there are some news clips and such, but most have been clipped and taylored to seem to mean something different that the original intent. Most of that I read on that sire is a pack of lies, or at best mis-information being passed along causing a feeding frenzy of hatred. Those type of sites only to serve to stir the pot and attract extremists like you to feed upon.
So, do you see the fact that McCain has changed his mind and compromised with the Dems as a sign of weakness? Or do you see it as him being a man that has been humbled at times to work forward to doing things to help the nation? When the left argues the right never wants to compromise, and someone from the right does indeed step across the compromise, you idiots tear that person apart! Why do you think the right doesn't like to compromise??? But hey, the Right still does to get things done! They aren't afraid of it. I have yet to see the left step across and compromise with the right Publicly as much as McCain has.
The HUGE difference is McCain has YEARS of experience and on MANY occasions changed his mind to get something ACCOMPLISHED. Obama has ZERO experience and only changes his mind to GET ELECTED. THAT is where I have the problem!

And if you extremists have actually READ what I have said before, you would know I am NOT particularly fond of McCain! But you're so full of yourselves that you never seem to get it. You can't see past your own fog. You're too busy patting each other on the back for coming up with what you think are clever catch phrases and jokes... Well ha ha, you da man!

Nope, I don't think McCain changing his mind on issues as circumstances dictate is a sign of weakness. I do think it's a sign of mere political expediency when he does it to fit in better with the right-wing extremists who he must court in order to be nominated and elected. And I do think it's a sign of Republican hypocrisy when a Democrat's similar policy changes are derided as flip-flopping, sometimes to the extent that it becomes the totality of their message.

As for your derision of that "far left" web site, web sites always seem to become far left when they dare to point out the faults and inconsistencies of Republicans. Rather than ranting about them and declaring them full of lies, you might be more convincing if you were to point out exactly where and how they are inaccurate.
