Greetings and Happy New Year fellow forumites,

IC 2169 is located just to the West of the Cone nebula in Monoceros along with some other interesting reflection nebula.

I have not seen many good nights over the last month and 2 of the 3 nights I spent on this, including the night I gathered the luminance, were plagued by terrible seeing conditions,4+ arc seconds sad so it isn't exactly sharp! I threw out half the RGB subs due to passing clouds.

Much more in this area that doesn't fit in my FOV including NGC2245 and IC2167 which I think is just on the right edge of this image. If I would have framed this better I think I may have squeezed it in.Oh well, maybe I can do a mosaic!

Ok,here's the specs and image.

Acquired on Dec. 28th,30th and 31st

260 minutes Luminance
100 minutes each RGB
TMB 115 at F7
ST10xme
1200gto guided with efinder and remote guide head.

Thanks for looking,your comments,suggestions welcomed.

Have a great year!

Jason

Beautiful image Jason! I really like the processing and the choice of target.
Happy New Year!

Very nice, Jason! Yes, that area is often overlooked.

You're right, Jason, that is IC2167.
This area is dim and benefits from exposure time but your color looks good.
The widefield of this area:

offers targets that could keep one busy for weeks.

Jason,
Nice pic. Color looks real good. I think I will take a closer look in this area this year.
